 Metal
Dome Tweeters
Our specialized metal dome
tweeter features the highest
European design and construction standards. Its high loss suspension
allows for
piston movement to above 20 kHz. This provides astounding frequency
performance
beyond the limits of audibility. The high precision faceplate phase
shield
controls ultrasonic spurious resonances. Braided voice coil leads and
magnetic
liquid cooling help increase the tweeter's impressive power handling
capabilities.
Sophisticated
Crossover Networks
Our crossover networks, "the
brains inside the
box," reflect our commitment to using only the best possible materials
and
technologies. Our concerns with issues such as phase coherent
circuitry,
resonance compensation and impedance control all contribute to the
exceptional
performance of our products. Superior tweeter function is assured by
our premium
grade capacitors. Critical circuit sections are governed by metallized
polyester
film and polypropylene dielectrics. Gripping bass performance is
maximized
through the use of heavy gauge indicators, precision wound on air or
massive
steel cores. Our use of higher order, low Q, Linkwitz-Riley type
crossovers
improve power handling.
Patented
Bass Enhancing System
All of our vented designs
feature our exclusive patented
Diaduct (diagonal duct) Bass Accelerator system which achieves
unprecedented
powerful deep bass from ordinary sized cabinets. With vented systems,
deep bass
response requires a wide port opening for adequate air flow through the
port
tube. Wide port openings require long duct tubes to maintain proper
bass tuning
characteristics. The Diaduct Bass Accelerator design utilized a long
diagonal
path inside the cabinet, thereby achieving the length required to
accommodate a
wide port opening. The large elliptical opening at either end of the
port tube
further facilitates the transfer of bass energy both in and out of the
cabinet.
Without suffering from airflow problems like wind noise and turbulence
(inherent
to curved or bent tubes), Pinnacle's Diaduct Bass Accelerator promotes
incredible bass response.
Baffling
We molded form fitted front
baffles to attain a high level
of aesthetic finesse, while assuring a perfect fit and finish where
drivers meet
the baffle. European cosmetic styling features an attractive ribbed
texture for
an aesthetically pleasing signature look to the Platinum Performance
Series.
Cornered
Platinum Performance models
incorporate a soft rounded
look even in the rear of the cabinets. Whereas the backs of other
speakers may
not feature a finished appearance, your Pinnacle Platinum Performance
Series
models make a great showing coming and going!
